    Looks like it was taken from the Silos and the approaches look clean and uncluttered which suggests a date c1921 when the silo opened.

    This is White Bay power station. Not Balmain Power Station.

    The building to the left of the power station is the White Bay Hotel, quite recently demolished. The street going up the hill behind it is Hornsey Street. Victoria Road, then called Weston Road, runs up the hill but I can't actually see it anywhere in the photo.

    I think the two buildings to the right of the last chimney, is the former catholic church at the top of Gordon Street. The large staggered building on the skyline was a cinema, which was later a wedding reception venue, on the corner of red lion street. You can also see St Thomas' anglican church. The two other visible towers are a mystery, I don't know what they are.

    Great image. My family rented a cottage 2 miles north of Cook for 12 years. I used to ride to the plant along the beach on my mountain bike. Did the tour once, well before 9/11. Palisades is visible from the new family beach.
