Lovely title.. worth seeing it all. LAMENT FOR THOMAS MACDONAGH by Francis Ledwidge He shall not hear the bittern cry In the wild sky, where he is lain, Nor voices of the sweeter birds Above the wailing of the rain. Nor shall he know when loud March blows Thro' slanting snows her fanfare shrill, Blowing to flame the golden cup Of many an upset daffodil. But when the dark cow leaves the moor, And pastures poor with greedy weeds, Perhaps he'll hear her low at morn Lifting her horn in pleasant meads.

Wikipedia says 66 rebels were killed. This IT article from 2015 says "new research" says 58.

Niall McAuley said:
This page lists 63 deaths and locations. I count 8 deaths in the GPO, and 4 in nearby streets.
The same page has photos of some of the dead, and this isn't any of them unless it is a very young The O'Rahilly? No, definitely not
It could be 7, 11, 14, 29, 32, 33, 39, 50 on that page. -

How old would you say he is in the picture - late teens or early twenties?

Niall McAuley said:
Dubris Looks very much teens to me, but it could be an old picture of whoever as a teen.

We've seen a lot of airbrushed photos where the subject turns out to be 10 years older than they look. He could be anything from 18 to over 30. He doesn't seem to match any of the descriptions of children killed in Dublin during the rising, hence the 18 limit. He has quite a high forehead, so if you imagine a few wrinkles, late 20s or early 30s may not be so fanciful.
