It says in the NLI catalogue that A. H. Poole was the photographer. Maybe the 'original' is lurking in Mr Poole's collection?

"The toothbrush moustache is a style of moustache in which the sides are vertical (or nearly vertical) rather than tapered, giving the hairs the appearance of the bristles on a toothbrush that are attached to the nose. It was made famous by such comedians as Charlie Chaplin and Oliver Hardy. The style first became popular in the United States in the late 19th century; from there it spread to Germany and elsewhere, reaching a height of popularity in the inter-war years, before becoming unfashionable after World War II due to its strong association with German Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. The association has become strong enough that the toothbrush has also become known as the "Hitler moustache"."

She has a long wikipedia page. Born in 1865, she looks an adult here, so after 1885?

Niall McAuley There's another photograph circulating of her with Anna Johnston in which she looks quite a bit younger. Given that they were associated with each other from about 1893, I think it likely that our picture can't be much earlier than 1900, and is probably later.

The bridge looks familiar, but I can't think where I've seen it. There's rhododendrons everywhere, so that narrows it down to all of Ireland.

The notes in the catalogue state that the picture was a gift from Joseph Holloway. Mind you, it also says Joly Collection, which is from 1863.
