    General Sickles is sitting next to his housekeeper and mistress Mrs. Wilmerding. General Sickes had one leg - thus the use of the carriage to get to the site.     The vehicle at center is an automobile, not a carriage. There is a steering wheel and the driver is wearing goggles and a duster. It has the monogram A.L.O. on the side, probably in gold leaf. The horse is not hitched to the vehicle. It is wearing a saddle.

    This is the 106th. As I've noted earlier, the man holding the flag is Giles Coons. The man behind him is his wife's brother and my Great Great grandfather John Rockwell. An original photo not seen here hangs in my fathers hallway.
