trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/71384207/5335401 - the Australian Town & Country Journal, 20th October, 1900...similar view here (see pic on 3rd page of link)...the T&CJ pic looks to be a few years later than the Henry King PHM pic...I suspect the T&CJ artist might have added a few pine trees for aesthetic purposes...

"The North Head Lighthouse was built in response to a marked increase in the number of shipwrecks along the Peninsula as mariners coming from the north could not see the Cape Disappointment light" – located two miles to the south.

North Head Light was completed in 1898 – three years after this photograph was taken.

Property markers at North Head Light bear the initials LHE, for Lighthouse Establishment, the original name for the government body overseeing lighthouses in the United States.

jamica1 Thanks for the link to the ship's logs jamica1, what a resource! You are correct, this was taken in April 1924.

From North Head with a zoom lens, or a low-flying biplane. Mr Hood seemed to like being high up.
