  Designed by a Mr Berkely Deane Wise, according to an article in the Carrick Times and East Antrim Times - Thursday 31 October 1991
  

  In 1888 Berkeley Deane Wise was appointed engineer to the Belfast and Northern Counties Railway. His work in Whitehead included the creation of Blackhead Path, the promenade, ladies and gents bathing boxes on the promenade, a beach (using imported sand from Portrush) and a bandstand. He also designed Sunshine House.

  with this they could catch a really really big fish... I have been looking at yesterday's photo, the sharpness, clarity of the image is incredible - the original negative, pre print pre scan must be amazing

  3 Keepers in the 1901 census, John N. Moore with Alexander Murray and John J. Gillispie assisting. All relatively young men, no wives or children on this remote posting. Moore's wife Marie Anne and their 6 children were in a house near the lighthouse at Blacksod Point on the mainland.
