Outside the headquarters building of the New York Herald. Another paper published there was the Evening Telegram. Games of the 1911 World Series, between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Athletics, were played in October, 1911. The Athletics defeated the Giants.

The Herald was an important newspaper that later merged to become the New York Herald-Tribune. The Herald didn't have a patent on this device; a Google search of "Playograph" discovers that they were used by newspapers in numerous towns across the country -- often inside a theater, with an admission charge.
