Flagg, for example, would be the wife of the artist James Montgomery Flagg, who is remembered now as the delineator of an iconic portrait of "Uncle Sam," in a WWI-era recruiting poster (often parodied) in which Sam points a finger at the viewer while declaring "I WANT YOU / FOR U.
