This is a bit weird - two negatives of the same view at the same time. I wonder if it was one of those stereoview shots?

Here is an animated gif to help judge without eyestrain. Because the angle of view is different in each frame I am tempted to suggest this may have been an example of using a stereo camera to take two differently composed images so that the best could later be selected. (Resolution below: 372 x 491; Original resolution: 743 x 982)

That is just amazing Thiophene_Guy. Thanks for posting it, and even more technical details on your page. I wonder if Charles Kerry, the photographer, used the stereo camera elsewhere. Maybe more almost identical images will pop up in the Tyrrell Collection.

Great find. I don't have a stereoviewer, but I'm going to try printing out the two photographs and place them side by side with a barrier between the two so I can view them separately, i.e. monocularly with each eye and see what happens.
