    This is a Halberstadt CLII. A two seat fighter which entered service with the German Air Service in 1917. Most of the damage is concentrated around the crosses on the wings,tailand fuselage. This may mean that most of the damage was caused by souvenir hunters. A common practice.

    Landmann is posing with an early Albatros, probably a B.I or B.II. Here's a B.I from San Diego Air & Space Museum Archives and a photo of a B.II at the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum, Vienna, by flickr member jens.lilienthal I think it's probably a version of the B.I, as the picture shows three sets of struts and the B.II had two sets per side. Engines varied in both types.
