Probably the wife of: Frederick Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, 3rd Marquess of Dufferin and Ava. He was married on 10 June 1908 to Brenda Woodhouse, only daughter of Major Robert Woodhouse, of Orford House, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire.

I think the lady is Agatha Stewart (née Hodgson), Marchioness of Sligo. She was the wife of the 6th Marquess of Sligo.

    Congratulation for your beautiful Album.

Sharon Corbet I'd agree, Sharon. She looks so anxious/wary in both photos. Hopefully she was just one of those people who hates having their photos taken...

The Marchioness visited Australia in 1938, and her interests are said to be "flying, fishing and gardening". Includes some family details, and implies the Marquess died in 1935 - trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/29207057

There are a number of non-digitised photos called “Marquess and Marchioness of Sligo, Westport House” in the catalogue, dating from 1916.

Is that perhaps a Christening gown? Baby looks rather old and alert for that in those days...
