Mary Maguire of Melbourne always loved the movies. According to an unsourced account in her school’s history, she would sometimes skip school to see the latest releases. Born in Albert Park, a suburb of Melbourne on February 22, 1919, she was the second of five daughters parented by publicans Michael (Mick) and Mary Jane “Bina” Maguire. Mary’s acting career was to be unbelievably short. She appeared in her first film in Australia in 1933, aged 14, and in her final film in the United Kingdom in 1942 when she was just 23 years old. In all, a total of only fourteen films. She died, aged 55, completely forgotten, in Long Beach California. Yet for a little while, in 1937 and 1938, she was the talk of Hollywood. Worth reading

The 1911 protest mentioned in the dib was for breaking windows of the War Office in London. Votes for Women - Friday 01 December 1911:

Mrs. Margaret Connery had broken two windows on the ground floor of She War Office. The prisoner said she came across from Ireland to protest in the strongest possible way against the Government's present attitude on the question of Woman Suffrage, and to show that Irish women were prepared to resist any form of Government, Home Rule or otherwise, which did not recognise Irish women. She was sentenced to 10s. and 10s. damages, or seven days in second division.

THe DIB thinks she was born in 1879, but Wikipedia, which features this same photo, says 27 June 1881.

The official birth records agree with Wikipedia.

In the 1901 census, young Maggie Knight is alleged to be 17.

The census gives the townland as Mahanagh, the birth record address is The Triangle, the OSI 12 " shows the only village in that townland is called The Triangle. In Streetview, some of the houses are ruins now.

In 1909, for her marriage to John Patrick Connery, she put 25.

Ivy's (or more properly Mrs Creeper's ?) hotel was larger when viewed from the right - catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000336124 Can't find it on google maps - HELP !

Per the 25", this is as close as I can get - the Hotel was in the trees, the hillside is to our right. The 1930s Cassini map does not mark it as a Hotel, it marks a Doolough House. There are no houses at all on the 1830s 6".
