Could Howe possibly be en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Howe_%28American_football%29 The Wikipedia piece says nothing about coaching at Columbia, but does suggest he was in NYC (at Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York) at the right time.

Yes, it is him. In November 1914, Columbia, which had banned football revived it for a day!! and Arthur Howe of Yale and Charley Hann of Harvard provided coaching. See NYT of November 25, 1914 query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F60910FB355A15738...
