    Fola La Follette was the daughter of Wisconsin Governor and U.S. Senator Robert M. La Follette Sr., and was a Broadway actress as well as a political activist. Paragraph 8 on this web page mentions La Follette's support of a garment workers strike in 1913. Rose Livingston was an ex-prostitute turned social reformer, known during the era as "The Angel of Chinatown" for her work with the prostitutes in the area. She has some things to say about her work in this 1912 New York Times article (the second of two articles in that PDF.)
