football!great shot!!!!!!

There's probably a Kickhams club in every county in Ireland. I note that the Ballymun Kickhams club was formed in 1969 when CJ Kickhams and Ballymun Gaels merged. There is a Kickhams club in Dundrum Tipperary but I imagine that the photograph comes from the old CJ Kickhams on Dublins north side! The Glasnevin Ballymun area in those days was rural and they are a healthy bunch of young men.

Swordscookie Thought that too! ONLY nagging doubt is that most Poole photos were taken in South/South-East of the country, and that's why I was slightly veering towards a Tipperary team. On the other hand, might indeed have been the Dublin team pictured before/after a match in the South-East...

cool

Replaced with a higher res image...

Mrs. Julian Heath was the founder and president of the National Housewives League, New York, "organized to uphold the enforcement of laws which affect food supplies, the family health, the cost of living, and to bring about necessary legislation in these matters. The movement is educational, defensive and constructive." Mrs. Charles E. Griffin was the organization's secretary.

Mrs. Heath holds a copy of the Housewives' League Magazine, a sophisticated, illustated publication, which may now be read online. Here is volume 5, from 1915: www.archive.org/stream/housewivesleague00housrich#page/n5... In 1913, Mrs. Heath's report on the work of the Housewives League was published in the "Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences": books.google.com/books?id=nlY5AAAAMAAJ&pg=RA1-PA121&a... julian heath&f=false

Another Bain/LOC photo of the pair. Mrs. Heath still holds the magazine, but is not pretending to read it:

LOC -- "Julian" is spelled with only one "L," please.

This photograph is flipped horizontally. The "NY" logo should be on McGraw's left sleeve.

Good catch, tshieber. Now fixed. Thanks!
