    Caption should read "Milsons Point station ... " Technically although the station was on the shores of Lavender Bay it was named "Milsons Point" and was moved to this location during the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (1924-1932) The North Sydney car sidings are currently on the site of the former station. The tramway was diverted along Dind and Glen Streets to service the relocated railway station.

    I can understand that ... the station is closer to Lavender Bay than Milson's Point, and they may have called it "Lavender Bay" to identify it as being a different station from the one they were replacing.I have seen it referred to as both Milson's Point and Lavender Bay. To be really accurate the station should be called the 'second' Lavender Bay station as in 1915 Milson's Point was replaced by a station (the 'first' Lavender Bay station) for a period of some seven weeks from 30 May 1915 - this station was 335 yards north of the original station and was constructed as there was a reasonable chance that the Sydney Harbour Bridge construction may soon commence. It didn't and the former arrangements were reinstated on 18 July 1915.
