He was a coach here as 1912 was his last year as a player. In 1919, he managed the White Sox to the World Series....this was the team that threw the series (allegedly, I still say) to Cincy and were known as the "Black Sox" for this scandal. Because of it, the great Shoeless Joe Jackson is not in the Hall of Fame despite his terrific record. Did Shoeless Joe "throw" the Series? NO. He should be in the Hall BEFORE Pete Rose or anyone else.
