Wombeyan Caves are limestone caves to the west of the highway between Goulburn and Mittagong. There are two ways in - from the Goulburn to Oberon road, which is on a relatively straightforward sealed road, or from Mittagong which is a narrow, twisting unsealed road. This tunnel is on the road from Mittagong.

The capstone of the arch inscribed "AD 1899" has an amusing story told in great style here - trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/14292766 . Wombeyan Caves Road was originally known as the Duprez Road after Adolf Duprez, and officially opened in January 1900.

Culwalla Chambers (1912) was hailed as Sydney's first 'skyscraper', At the SW corner of King and Castlereagh Streets. Street level is the Louis Vuitton store now.

I suspect that the building with the scaffolding seen towards the other end of King St on the left is Temple Court, which occupied the NW corner of Elizabeth/King Sts...it was evidently a rebuild of the previous building. It appears to have been completed in early 1913...looks like it might be being painted. trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/228696211 - the Sun, 13th January, 1913...this pic shows the exterior of Temple Court nearing completion... trove.nla.gov.au/work/190120410 - this NLA Fairfax pic appears to have been taken in ca. October 1912...looking down from Culwulla Chambers...it shows Temple Court (bottom of frame) at an earlier stage of construction... I'm not sure whether the Daily Telegraph Building (SE cnr King/Castlereagh Sts) would be visible from this location...or whether it would be hidden behind Culwulla Chambers...my guess is this pic might have been taken in early 1913, before work on the Daily Telegraph Building commenced...Per various digitised newspaper hits, the excavation of the foundations for the Daily Telegraph Building commenced in ca. August 1913, and the and the external building work was completed by about September-October 1915...

Taxation incentives for the arts! I wonder what ridiculous price their valuer came up with to claim a write-off on this.
