This is an amazing picture. It is really interesting to see how time has changed the look of players and the uniforms of players, yet decades later the game of baseball is still the same game.

This picture is able to truly show the essence of baseball. Tradition. Baseball has been labeled as America's past time for obvious reasons. It is able to be the perfect item. It has the ability to maintain it's roots while still adapting to modern day. Baseball truly is America's past time

@05.Fx, it is definitely Engel.......go to the link I posted above. Yes, the game remains the same, for the most part except that they had to mess with it by going to the DH.....and even worse, having the DH in just one league. This was just plain stupid. The players have become bigger, faster, stronger, on the whole.....pitching has become better overall because of the use of relievers and better medical/training care....fielding better due to much better gloves and better turf. Players are in better physical condition (players were told NOT to lift weights before the sixties). Balls are wound tighter and go farther (especially when hitters are on steroids). Let's just hope the majors NEVER go to metal bats.
