I love the hats; and I appreciate what they did for all of us women.

It was a long process, but it took many bold and courageous women to get to where we are today. I still believe it is a battle for women to uphold their integrity and strive for equality.

Speaking at the suffrage meeting advertised on the flier seen here, Carrie Chapman Catt has a close connection to International Women's Day (IWD). In 1904, she was elected to the first board of the International Woman Suffrage Alliance at a meeting in Berlin and reelected in 1906 in Copenhagen. She promoted suffrage for women in her travels around the world in 1911-1912, stopping in South and East Africa, the Middle East, India, China, and many other places.
