Hugganstown GAA were to merge with in 1928 in commemoration of the Battle of Carrickshock in December 1831. Carrickshock won the All-Ireland Inter Club Hurling Championships in 2017.

Just noticed the date of this photo was seemingly at the end of the year before the amalgamation in 1928, this piece seems to give some background to events in December 1927.

The "suspenders" remind me of the adverts for Threadgolds Thoroughgrip Garterettes which were a feature of the newspaper columns of Beachcomber (no relation?) and the radio and TV programs they inspired
A dustman was emptying dustbins
More here.
In the heart of a horrible slum,
Where no Viscount's white foot had e'er trodden
And no Marquess would venture to come.
How taut were the socks of that dustman
Would show that he didn't forget
The people's best friend in all troubles
Threadgold's Thoroughgrip Garterette.
The best and fastest team game in the world?

De La Salle seem to have four Senior County Hurling titles 1906, 2008, 2010, 2012, so the medals are not county senior hurling, and not All Irelands for sure... Come on the Deise.
