    John you are the idiot! These were just children who many went off as their only chance of seeing the World & for many escaping grinding poverty. My Grandfather was very badly wounded during WW1-he felt he was serving King,Country & protecting his family-dirty words nowadays. My Mother's Uncle was only 16 when he received the wounds which would kill him three years later-after three years of paralysis. You might call them idiots I think of them as brave but foolish boys who thought they were doing their duty.
