Harold Kantner Aero Club of America Pilot # 65 October 1911

This photo ran in The Sunday Oregonian. (Portland, Ore.) on July 26, 1914 with the following story: "Harold Kantner, winner of aviation contract Harold Kantner, flying in a 50-horse-power Schmitt monoplane, won the aviation contest at New York on the Fourth. Kantner's time in the 36-mile race was 43 minutes 28 1-5 seconds. The only other birdman of the eight supposed to take part in the contest who actually flew was A. S.
