  A Ford-built B-24M (B-24M-30-FO), USAAF Ser. No. 44-51583, converted to an Electronic Warfare "Ferret" aircraft. As per the Joe Baugher site: www.joebaugher.com/usaf_serials/1944_4.html

  [44-]51583 converted to FB-24 Ferret and fitted with special radar equipment APQ-13 and APA-6. The rear bomb bay was sealed off and converted into a sound proof room containing the radar spinner and miscellaneous radar equipment. Intended for use in Operation Olympic (the invasion of Japan), but was cancelled after VJ Day.

  Consolidated B-24H Liberators in the 467th BG including B-24H-20-FO 42-94910 4Z-E+ (foreground) of the 788th BS & B-24H-15-CF 41-29369 "Tender Comrade / Ole 369" of the 791st BS preparing to return to CONUS in May '45. According to the 467th BG website, 41-29369 was lost en-route over Scotland due to structural failure in flight.

  JPM: Assuming this picture was taken at their home base before the re-deployment, this photo was taken at RAF Rackheath (UK) where the 467th BG was stationed from late '43 thru the end of hostilities in May '45.
