    A Ford-built B-24M (B-24M-30-FO), USAAF Ser. No. 44-51583, converted to an Electronic Warfare "Ferret" aircraft. As per the Joe Baugher site: www.joebaugher.com/usaf_serials/1944_4.html
    [44-]51583 converted to FB-24 Ferret and fitted with special radar equipment APQ-13 and APA-6. The rear bomb bay was sealed off and converted into a sound proof room containing the radar spinner and miscellaneous radar equipment. Intended for use in Operation Olympic (the invasion of Japan), but was cancelled after VJ Day.

    An absolutely stunning photo of a Consolidated C-109 (converted B-24L) "fuel tanker" in service with 49TCS 313TCG. I have never seen any photo of one in Europe before. They mostly flew in fuel from Indiaover the 'Hump' into Chinese bases in 1944-45. This shot really made my day!!! Thanks Alan :-) Stig
