B-59 Interestingly, these Duryeas were heirs to General Hiram Duryea's National Cornstarch Company, which registered the still-existing brand name "Maizena". This General Duryea led the New York 5th Infantry Regiment, "Duryea's Zouaves", in the Civil War and later became president of the family company, making millions. I think this is the flower show exhibition, as opposed to the Farré show. New York Times coverage names her as Chairman of the Arrangements Committee for the Red Cross Garden Theatre. Lieutenant Joseph Charles Stehlin (1897-1967) on an air tour selling liberty bonds. He is wearing a French WWI aviator uniform so he must have been in the Lafayette Escadrille. New York Times on April 14, 1918: "If the weather is favorable, Lieutenant Joseph C. Stehlin will start at 3 o'clock o clock this afternoon from Sheepshead Bay on his air flight through New York state in the interest of Liberty Bonds." He was born on 29 January 1897 in Brooklyn, New York City. He died in Miami Florida in 1967.
