Looking at them I wish I could have a chat with them, sure I would find inspiration and a lot of good stories...

The 1911 County Primary School still stands. The majority of the High School was demolished in the 1980s, with just the oldest part remaining. The photo shows the canteen kitchen block, across the road from the 1911 school, shared with the adjacent High School.

River Wye in foreground. A famous view for British geomorphologists as it shows the development of a river meander as the river progressively undercuts the bank beneath the viewpoint leaving a record of older meander positions behind it.

Arden Glad to help. The River Wye in this area shows examples of this and various other classic geomorphological features (e.g. the river is 'incised' and 'superimposed'). The bedrock geology of the Carboniferous (Misissippian) Limetone exposed in the cliffs here, and also seen in other Chepstow postcards posted here, is also of geological interest. But I assumed more information about these things would be more technical than you would want!

River Wye

Some of these captions say Chepstow, England and others say Chepstow, Wales. The town of Chepstow is in Wales. The border is the Wye River. In this view, I think the right-hand bank is in Monmouthshire, Wales, showing part of Chepstow Castle, and the left-hand bank is Gloucestershire, England.
