Some are wearing pants and scarves very like these. And here's another dated 1918 -- at issaquahhistory.blogspot.com/2013/06/from-digital-archive... I love their gaiters!!

Thank you xiphophilos and swanq. It does seem possible that they are Campfire Girls. We can add this to the record when we update. I think they are wearing jodhpurs and I like their walking sticks.

The sergeant seated to the right of the officer (from our viewpoint) and the Garda standing immediately behind the officers are wearing a shield-shaped pins on their uniforms - probably indicative of their membership of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association. Permission was given to PTTA members to wear their Pioneer Pin on their uniforms (according to message #8 in this link: irishconstabulary.com/the-civic-guard-t1554.html)

Excellent shot once again NLI. As you said they do look relaxed though the future of the prisoner might be rather uncertain. He is a fine looking young man and there is almost a sense of relief in his expression. Patrick the men in uniform are Free State or Pro-treaty soldiers and the young prisoner is a Republican rebel or anti-treaty soldier. Both were probably on the same side some months earlier fighting against the British and now they were killing each other with equal ferocity in their disagreement as to how the war should have ended. The prisoner is one of the lucky ones because as usual in civil wars mercy was not always shown by either side.
