There's a dog lying under a cart. I see a roulette wheel and a huddle....probably a three card trickster.

OS 25" map. from 1895 shows the RC Chapel "in progress". The parish website says it was finished in 1902. At least the exterior looks finished here, so I'd say this is after 1900.

I hope everyone took care on their way home. Sudden death klaxon! The Hull Packet and Humber Mercury (Hull, England), Tuesday, February 2, 1830, quoting the Limerick Evening Post
A woman, named Ellen Connell, of Valentia, county Kerry, has been committed to Tralee gaol for the murder of her husband, a decent farmer. She is the mother of seven young children. Her paramour, Denis McCarthy Lawney, a labourer, with whom she indulged an illicit connexion, is also fully committed for the murder, it appearing that they strangled the unfortunate husband on his return from the fair at Cahirciveen, and flung his body into the sea. The body was washed ashore two days after near to the scene of the murder.

I came across account of this murder again when going off on tangents from the Valentia photo. I can add is that [ spoiler alert] the pair were found guilty at the Spring Assizes in March and sentenced to be executed the following week.
