Our school Archive has some similarly suited students: Of course, it is an all boys school... so the dresses are a bit much!

Fascinating war time history on your stream. And love the costumes - never cease to be amazed at the design and execution of costumes for what were amateur productions...

Thanks! I completely agree with your comment about the quality of the costumes... even today it seems difficult to ensure the costumes are convincing! Perhaps it's the B&W photography... and they weren't that great really?! I've really enjoyed looking through the NLI photostream. I've just returned from Ireland visiting family! If you manage to find any linked to Edmund Rice in any way, please let us know.

We have an engraving of Edmund Rice in our Prints & Drawings Dept., but unfortunately it's not been digitised: catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000188518 However, here are 4 photos of his tomb: catalogue.nli.ie/Search/Results?lookfor=edmund+rice&t...[]=format%3A%22Photo%22&filter[]=digitised%3A%22Digitised%22&view=grid And if you search (Digitised / Not Digitised) for Christian Brothers, etc. you'll find lots of photos of the various schools and staff groups around the country... Delighted you're enjoying the photostream!

The Housekeeper was sacked last week!

Though Poole tends to be Waterford, and there is also a Newtown in Waterford, if not obviously an Upton.

Upton, Newtown, Waterford came up before as where Peter O'Connor was living:

Searching google maps for Upton Newtown Waterford points to Newtown Junior School, but I am not sure why yet.
