Don't know anything about the gun, but suspect it's housed in the battery built by Doneraile walk in 1891/2. There's a few shots on Flickr of this older gun on Doneraile walk (which may have been retired when the new one was installed). Some other info around and about on the Doneraile battery but little about the gun itself.

Not sure what type of gun this is, its definitely a breech loaded weapon. I had thought it might be the gun that is still on the Doneraile but that one is a rifled muzzle loader. It may have been the original gun that was installed in the battery in 1891 and probably replaced at sometime later by the more modern gun in the photo.
