Interesting to see the "original line of the bay" (see large size) on the east of Sussex Street. The waterline is now about 100 metres to the west of Sussex Street, as Darling Harbour has been gradually filled in. GoogleMaps equivalent - goo.gl/maps/QLgo2

What a wonderful sketch! John Kellick (1803-1882) purchased land at Darling Harbour from the boatbuilder Thomas Day in 1836 for 1600 pounds. He built Kellick's Wharf at the end of Margaret Place. He ran the schooners Jane and Falcon from his wharf. His wife was Ann Pugh Nichols (1803-1872). Source: The Story of John Nichols First Fleeter and Five Generations of His Family (1988).
