I don't know where that is, but it is definitely not Green Point on Pittwater.

This is Miller's Point (right), possibly taken from Goat Island or Blues Point.

Apart from the regatta, this is a wonderful and unusual view of the 1895 Dawes Point area and the docks before they were redeveloped into the finger wharves of Walsh Bay. Contemporary interactive map - www.nla.gov.au/apps/cdview/?pi=nla.map-rm3443-sd&rgn=...

beachcomber australia A built-up little spot. I wonder how many of those buildings are still around?

Australian National Maritime Museum on The Commons Quite a lot of the buildings in Lower Fort Street and Windmill Street are still there, from that terrace with the seven uneven chimneys south. Almost everything around Walsh Bay and Dawes Point was redeveloped for wharves or the Harbour Bridge. GoogleMapsStreetView - I think the photographer was up the hill behind at McMahons Point, or high up on a ship. See the line-up of the terraces 6th chimney with the Lands Department Tower, neither of which has moved in the last 118 years!

The Pastoral Finance Association Woolstore is here in ruins two years after a 1921 fire. It was a real eyesore on the Harbour, next to Admiralty House. See -

The puzzling thing is that there are two Alan C. Green photos (State Library of Victoria), one slightly before - handle.slv.vic.gov.au/10381/29626 and the other slightly after - handle.slv.vic.gov.au/10381/27786 , going by the backgrounds. Hmm?

beachcomber australia Interesting re the woolstore, seems it remained a feature on the harbour for a fews years after the fire - no one knew quite what to do with it.
