Queens Theatre Bundaberg 1889

  • Vesna Verencevic said:
Queens Theatre It was built in 1888 in Woongarra Street, at the rear of the Queen’s Hotel in Bourbong Street, for vaudeville, local amateur productions and early silent pictures. In 1898, Gladys Moncrieff, aged six years, made her stage debut in a charity concert. In 1905 the theatre featured Biorama Entertainment (animated views). In 1911 it was leased to Birch and Carroll, and manager R Neumann showed Olympia Pictures. The year 1929 saw the end of films, though concerts were staged until late 1930s. In 1947 the building was sold to and used by the Bundaberg Co-operative Society. In 1984 the building was sold to local investment interests – arcade shops. Now it’s the home for Finemore Walters and Story Solicitors. Source: bundabergtoday.com.au/news/2022/04/17/bundaberg-takes-the...

Some effort would have been asked for to position those cars so close to each other for the photo.
