Striped road uniform not used in 1919. Comiskey had a concrete dugout, but with sharply sloped roof, unlike the Polo Grounds dugout. LOC: I think Pictorial History Committee should re-examine this and the surrounding photos, and check if this one should be redated to 1917.

Any reason LOC is not using the original caption where accurate? In this case, you are omitting key info.

@artolog: The SABR project focused on naming players and teams, using a stock pattern to devise for titles that replaced the severely abbreviated words scratched on the negatives. The words on the negatives were retained in the notes area. In this case, though, you're right. This negative has a full-blown title that identifies the scene well. Not sure why the Committee thought this was 1918. Looks like the 1914 uniform (Daubert played for Brooklyn in both years). exhibits.baseballhalloffame.org/dressed_to_the_nines/unif... Also, this seems almost identical to www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/5517545366/ dated 1914 on the glass negative.
