Great photo,(and a lovely bicycle too). Looks like a team with players from all walks of life.

Something odd about the bicycle - the chainring and chain are on the 'wrong' side. At first I thought the photo was the wrong way round, but the buttons on the shirts etc are OK so it must be the bike which is unusual. From oldbike.wordpress.com/1893-safety-bicycle/ Early safeties featured either left-hand or right-hand chains. There was no particular advantage to mounting it on either side. But, with the 1890s boom in bicycle sales, the industry had to standardize cycle components. By 1895, right-hand chains had become the standard. Looking at the ears, I would say the fellow on the left with the stripey jacket is Sir Richard. Talking of ears, there is a marvellous pair on one of the gentleman standing.

Striped road uniform not used in 1919. Comiskey had a concrete dugout, but with sharply sloped roof, unlike the Polo Grounds dugout. LOC: I think Pictorial History Committee should re-examine this and the surrounding photos, and check if this one should be redated to 1917.
