This photograph appears on page 81 of the following book: Karskens, Grace 1999, Inside The Rocks : the archaeology of a neighbourhood Hale & Iremonger, Sydney Bearing this caption: "Caraher's Lane from the corner of Cribb's Lane, showing the stables of the Whaler's Arms hotel. Archaeological evidence suggested that one end of this structure was occupied as a dwelling for some time. Further along to the right are nos 2 and 4 Cribb's Lane, converted from the stables of the Bird-in-Hand (AONSW McCredie Collection COD 123)" Trove identifier for the book: trove.nla.gov.au/work/28817147
