Player No, 10 (above) is W. W. Wade, Class of 1917, who played Left Guard for Brown in the game against Cornell on October 24, 1914 at the Polo Grounds (Brush Stadium) in New York. [1] "(William Wallace) Wade (1892–1986) was an American football player and coach of football, basketball and baseball in the United States. He served as the head football coach at the University of Alabama from 1923 to 1930, where his team won three national championships. Wade then became head coach at Duke University from 1931 to 1941 and again from 1946 to 1950, compiling a career college football record of 171–49–10 ! Wallace Wade Stadium at Duke is named for him. — Wikipedia Player No. 9 (above) is Walter Kenneth Sprague, Class of 1917, who played Left Tackle, replacing Number 8, R. B. Ward, after Ward broke his collar bone during the Cornell - Brown game. During World War I, Sprague served in the Army as a Sergeant, Hdqrs. Co., 4th Mech. Reg. Air Service, France. [2]
