Evers was the National League MVP (then knows as the Chalmers Award) in 1914. His counterpart in the American League, Eddie Collins, played for the Athletics in the Series that year. www.baseball-reference.com/awards/awards_1914.shtml#NLmvp

October 13, 1914 was the last day of the World Series, won by the Boston Braves in a four-game sweep. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1914_World_Series

This was apparently taken at an earlier time, though, when the Braves were playing at the Polo Grounds in New York. Gowdy was the hero of the Series that year for Boston. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hank_Gowdy

According to www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1914/VNY101914.htm, the last game the Boston Braves played against NY at the Polo Grounds was on 10/3/1914. Perhaps the dates on the negative is when the photographer developed and printed the image.
