William Cameron "Gib" Cool, (1894-1933), Class of 1916, played Center (Number 4) for Cornell University football, in this game against Brown University, October 24, 1914, at the Polo Grounds (Brush Stadium) in New York. Cornell toppled defeated Brown 28 - 7. Cool was selected as an All-American after his senior year in 1915. He was inducted [posthumously] into the Cornell Athletic Hall of Fame in 1981. After graduation from Cornell, Cool coached the University of Tennessee football team for one year. During World War I, Cool enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as an instructor in the School of Fire at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. — [1] [2] [3]

(Raymond Belcher) Ward, Class of 1917, played Left Tackle (Number 8) for Brown University football, in this game against Cornell University, October 24, 1914 at the Polo Grounds (Brush Stadium) in New York. Ward suffered a broken collar bone during the game. Cornell trounced defeated Brown 28-7. With the outbreak of World War I, Ward enlisted in the Army as a Lieutenant at Camp Devens, and deployed with Batt. C in France. — [1] [2] [3] [4]

[1] "(William Wallace) Wade (1892–1986) was an American football player and coach of football, basketball and baseball in the United States. He served as the head football coach at the University of Alabama from 1923 to 1930, where his team won three national championships. Wade then became head coach at Duke University from 1931 to 1941 and again from 1946 to 1950, compiling a career college football record of 171–49–10 !  Wallace Wade Stadium at Duke is named for him. — Wikipedia   Player No. 9 (above) is Walter Kenneth Sprague, Class of 1917, who played Left Tackle, replacing Number 8, R.
