From 'The Cumberland Argus and Fruitgrowers Advocate' [sic] 24/4/1909 - trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/85918059 The article puts the date as Wednesday 21 April 1909. Mention made of a "rather overpowering statue of Liberty, which stands aloft to astonish the new comer" - hence the Stars'n'Stripes? Also sports, races, a Hungarian Band, merry-go-round, tightrope-walker, etc ...
