I think the narration on this photo would be incorrect. The Compass Centre, Waltons new store and the Council Buildings are clear. Also construction of Bankstown Square is visible. I'd fix on 1964 as a date. Potts Hill would be some 2 or 3 kms from this area.

The site is Bankstown square from the north-west, google, www.google.com/maps/@-33.9121789,151.0352466,281a,35y,148... around 1964 as the site opened in 1966!
