It took until this picture in the sequence to realize the connection between these pictures from the Library of Congress collections. How stupid of me!

I take state classes here all the time. It was originally The Money Store banking building.

The picture was taken in Nowy Sącz (German: Neu Sandez or formerly Neu Sandec). Now in southern Poland, the town was part of the Habsburg Empire (Galicia) until November 1918.
"At the beginning of World War I, Nowy Sącz was occupied by the Russian Army. The Russians were driven back by the Central powers in December 1914"
