While in Tunisia in 1924 filming The Arab Ingram met a young orphan named Kada abd-el-Kader. Ingram and his wife Alice Terry brought the boy back with them (on the Aquitania) to adopt an raise in America. While Kada went on to feature in Ingram's 1926 film Mare Nostrum, it turned out that Kada wasn't as young as he represented himself to be and after getting involved with "fast cars and fast women" was sent back to Morocco.
