Besides Ruffo there were three other baritones on board -- Antonio Scotti, Pasquale Amato, and William Hinshaw."

Presumably www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/2949660224/ (of Tito Ruffo) was also taken on the George Washington at the same time.

My guess would be that this photo was taken on board the liner George Washington, which arrived on October 28, 1912, bearing a number of operatic stars including the three baritones pictured, Antonio Scotti, Pasquale Amato, and William Hinshaw.
