This is Semmes Avenue in Manchester, looking east. The one-way sign on the right is at West 15th Street. The Buick dealer, which was Muse Buick, is the only thing in the picture that can still be seen here in 2008.

Prior to the completion of the Lee Bridge in 1934, U.S. 1 and 301 would have come into Richmond on Chamberlayne Avenue to Adams Street, then south on Adams to Broad before heading east on Broad and south again on 9th Street to cross the James River.

Sorry, but the notes are backwards; Leigh is going to the left and Adams is where the church is. This intersection is where the Bojangles statue is.
