Henry John Andrews Born 1891 Cornwood, Devon. The oldest of eight children of Henry John Snr. [b.1870 Rhyme, Devon d.1944] a Bricklayer, and Harriet Maria Andrews nee Evans [b.1869 Brixton, London d.1957].
The 1901 census records him living at Winterbourne Hill, Winterbourne Village, Dorset, with his parents and younger siblings Thomas [b.1893], Ellen [b.1896] and Susan [.1899].
The 1901 census records him living at Rosemead Street, Hull, East Yorks, with his parents, the three younger siblings and an additional four siblings, born since the last census; Charles [.1904], Wilfred [b.1906], Rose [b.1908] and William [b.1910]. By this time Henry is employed as an Apprentice Fitter – presumably in engineering but the trade is not specified.
I've not been able to find his Attestation Papers.
Died 15th September 1915. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.

    Fantastic shopfront!

If the original moulding and ironwork has been preserved, it should be possible to find the exact address/location of this shop using Google Maps. I've very loosely placed it along the Quays in Waterford... (that's what's known in the trade as an unsubtle hint!)

Semmes Avenue at West 15th Street, looking east, with Muse Buick showroom on the right corner

This is Semmes Avenue in Manchester, looking east. The one-way sign on the right is at West 15th Street. The Buick dealer, which was Muse Buick, is the only thing in the picture that can still be seen here in 2008.
