Could be Kathleen Mary Drew (1901-1957), listed in Ogilvie and Harvey, The Biographical Dictionary of Women in Science as "British botanist....Drew was a distinguished worker in the field of red algae. She spent most of her academic life in the department of cryptogamic botany at the University of Manchester....she spent two years in the United States, working at the University of California. During this time, she produced systematic studies and her first substantial monograph....She was one of the founders of the British Phycological Society and was its first president."

Son of Joseph S and Elizabeth A Napthali. Siblings Edith M (16), Nelly E (14), Charles E (12), Frank H (4) and Gilbert F (2) in 1891. The family were living at 350 Stretford Road, Hulme, Manchester where Joseph Snr was a Furniture Dealer.

Joseph Solomon Napthali died 27 Oct 1925 at 350 Stretford Road. Probate granted to his widow Elizabeth Ann. Effects £729 16s.

Joseph Sidney married Alice Mary Cranshaw in 1906 and their son, Sidney Vaughan, was born in 1910 in Patricroft. Information via Salford War Memorials salfordwarmemorials.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=men&amp.... showed that Joseph Sidney and his family were living at 94 Shakespeare Crescent, Patricroft Lancashire maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.... Surname spelled Naphtali.

Alice died in 1935 in Bolton and Joseph remarried the following year.

Joseph Sidney Napthali died 23 Jan 1946 at Hope Hospital Salford, He was of 13 Wennington Road, Southport maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.... Probate was granted to Sidney Vaughan Napthali commercial traveller. Effects £407 2s 5d.

After Joseph's death Alice changed her name by deed poll back to Alice Booth according to a London Gazette advertisement of 1948.

951034 Sidney Vaughan NAPHTALI (138944) (note the change of spelling of the surname) is mentioned in the London Gazette as a Corporal in 1943. He died in 1968 in Kerrier, Cornwall.
