United States Navy and Royal Australian Navy ships in Sydney Harbour

The four evenly-spaced, raked funnels of the ship in the left-centre and the long fo'c'sle are characteristic of earlier generations of British-built light cruiser. Possibly HMAS Sydney or HMAS Melbourne? Four-funnelled American cruisers had two groups of 2 funnels, a short fo'c'sle and a short quarterdeck.

Hospital ship USS RELIEF in Sydney Harbour, July 1925

I think this might be the US hospital ship 'Relief'.

Yes! See - USS 'Relief' (AH-1)

" At the end of the long procession of battleships came a smaller ship, built on entirely different lines, and painted white. One knew at once that this was the hospital ship Relief. Coming after the great male battleships in their uniform of war grey, she lent a touch of feminine interest to the array. She carried an irresistible suggestion of an hospital nurse in uniform. "
