This is the foremast of the USS Maine. The foremast was found during the raising of the Maine in 1912, and brought back to the United States aboard the USS Sterling in August of that year. It was erected at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Maine_Mast_Memorial
