This from 1979 looks like similar concrete posts, holding a different sign. The same stranded loco can be seen in the background there, so this is the platform at Mallow Station, as you guessed.

ClicKen, in 1967 that was most certainly a museum piece. The diesel engine and railcar were very much in use at that time and the transition from diesel to steam was almost if not completely at an end.
